CHAP. 274.

CHAPTER 273.

Passed Mar. 23,
1838.

An additional supplement to an act, entitled, an act to
establish Magistrate's Courts, in the several counties of
this State, and to prescribe their jurisdiction, passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-five,
so far as relates to Cecil County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, under the privileges granted by the fourth
section of the act to which this is an additional supple-
ment, a Magistrate's Court was established in the vil-
lage of Port Deposite, in Cecil county, with power to
take cognizance over all cases within their jurisdic-
tion, in the third and fourth election districts of said
county; and whereas, since the passage of said act,
and the organization of said court, the said election
districts have been altered, and the number of dis-
tricts in said county increased, and it appearing that
the said village of Port Deposite is embraced within
the limits of the sixth election district: — Therefore,

District court
arranged.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Magistrates court heretofore embra-
ced within the limits of the third and fourth election dis-
tricts of Cecil county, shall from and after the passage
of this act, be, and is hereby declared to be embraced
within the limits of the sixth election district of said
county, and as such, the said court shall have jurisdic-
tion within the limits of said district

Repealing
clause.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any acts, or parts
of acts, inconsistent with the provisions of this act,
be and the same are hereby repealed, so far as relates
to Cecil county.

CHAPTER 274.

Passed Mar. 29,
1838.

An act for the relief of sundry Poor persons, in the
several Counties therein mentioned.

That the Levy Court, or County Commissioners, as
the case may be, of Harford, Prince George's, Queen
Ann's, Cecil, Montgomery, and Baltimore, counties,
