An act to divorce James Weston, of Talbot County,
from his wife, Ann J. Weston.

Divorce.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That James Weston, of Talbot county, be, and he is
hereby declared to be divorced from his wife, Ann J.
Weston, a vinculo matrimonii.

CHAPTER 270.

An act supplementary to an act, entitled, a supplement
to the act, entitled, an act to incorporate the Balti-
more and Port Deposite Rail Road Company, passed.
December session eighteen hundred and thirty-one,
chapter two hundred and eighty-eight.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, doubts have been expressed by some of
the commissioners named in said act whether they
have power or not, under said law, to summon and
compel the attendance of witnesses: — Therefore,

Authority to is-
sue subpoena
for witnesses.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners named in the act to which this
is supplementary, or their successors, be, and they
are hereby authorised and empowered to issue subpoe-
nas and attentments, which it shall be the duty of the
......................... hands the same shall be placed, to
serve so as to to enforce the attendance before said com-
missioners, of such witnesses as either of the parties
to the case that shall be under consideration, by the
said commissioners, may require or deem it necessary

Compensation.

to have the testimony of; and that the said witnesses
shall he paid according to the rate for attending before
the county court, by and at the expense of said com-
pany, in the same manner as the said company is to
pay the said commissioners and their clerk; provided,
