CHAP. 32

Guardian em-
powered.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Benjamin I. Cohen, of the city of
Baltimore, the father and natural guardian of Israel
Cohen, Solomon E. Cohen, Rachel E. Cohen, Maria
Cohen, Catharine F. Cohen, Georgian Cohen and Ed-
ward Cohen, infant children, and heirs at law of Catha-
rine Cohen, deceased, be, and he is hereby fully authoriz-
ed and empowered in their names, and on their behalf,
to execute, acknowledge and deliver to Andrew Biggs,
of Pennsylvania, a good and sufficient deed of all the
right, interest and estate of the said Catharine Cohen,
in and to the tract or part of a tract of land aforesaid,
and to receive and give acquittance for such portion of
the unpaid purchase money as may be coming to her
said children, and heirs at law.

CHAPTER 32.

1838.

An additional supplement to the act, entitled, an act for
the relief of the Poor of St. Mary's county.

Levy court to
appoint.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the office of the present trustees of
the poor of Saint Mary's county, shall cease and be at
an end on the first Monday of June next, and the ap-
pointment of the trustees of the poor of said county,
shall, from and after the first Monday of May next,
be vested in the levy court of said county.

Meet annually
in May.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the levy court of
Saint Mary's county, shall be, and they are hereby
authorised and required at their first meeting in May
next, and at their first meeting in the month of May
in each succeeding year thereafter, to appoint five dis-
creet and proper persons, qualified agreeably to the
provisions of the original act, and the supplements
thereto, and of this act, to be trustees of the poor of
said county, from and after the first Monday of June
next.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the clerk of said county, within five days after such
appointment, and within the like time after any future
appointments to be made in virtue of this act, to make
