A supplement to the act, entitled, an act to establish Ma-
gistrates' Courts in the several counties of this State,
and to prescribe their jurisdiction.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, in all
cases of appeal from justices of the peace or magis-
trates' courts, to the county courts of this State,
wherein either party shall be entitled to and demand a

trial by jury, it shall be the duty of said county courts,
upon the calling of said case, and the parties being
ready for trial, forthwith to order a jury to be impan-
nelled, and to hear and determine said cases upon the
verdict or finding of the jury, as in cases originating

in said courts, without any delay or postponement, fur-
ther than necessary to the advancement of justice.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in
this act contained, shall be construed to prevent the
continuance of any case upon appeal as aforesaid, for
want of evidence, according to the acts of Assembly
in such cases made and provided.

and Coal Company.

Maryland, That Louis Howell, Benjamin B. Howell

shall become associated with them in the manner here-
