An act to Incorporate the Denton Silk Company.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, sundry persons in Caroline county, in
this State, hereinafter named, have formed themselves
into a society or company, for the purpose of purcha-
sing a farm, cultivating mulberry trees, raising silk
worms, making, manufacturing and selling silk, and
also to cultivate, said farm in other articles for sale,
with a capital of two thousand five hundred dollars.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That James Sangston, William R. Sangs-
ton, William Baily, Edward B. Hardcastle, William
Malster and John R. T. Saulsbury, William A. Tatem,
George T. Martin, George F. Mason, Joshua Clark,
Matthew W. Hardcastle, Hugh Taylor, John Jump of
P., Joseph Evitts, Nehemiah Fountain, William A.
Ford, Joseph Pearson, Samuel Council. John G. Wil-
lis, Thomas F. Bourke, Isaac Baily, James Dukes,
and John Jones, and such other persons as shall here-
after heroine stockholders in the said company, shall
be, and are hereby created and declared a body politic

ny may elect, in a manner which shall be specified in
their by-laws, seven directors for that year, and so in.
