CHAP. 139,

Contracts con-
firmed.

as they or either of them might Lave, hold, take, possess,
inherit, enjoy and dispose of, if they were naturalized
citizens of the United States, and that every contract
or conveyance heretofore made or hereafter to he
made, to, with or by the said Jane Hutton and Marga-
ret Hutton, or either of them, in regard to the same,
shall have the same validity and effect as if the said
Jane Hutton and Margaret Hutton, at the time of mak-
ing such contract or conveyance had been and were na-

tive citizens of this State, and in case the said Jane
Hutton and Margaret Hutton or cither of them shall
die intestate, all their and each of their right, title,
estate and interest in any such lands, tenements and
hereditaments, at the time or times of their or either

son or persons residing in the United States, as would
be their or either of their heir or heirs, if citizens un-
der the laws of this State.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid Jane
Hutton and Margaret Hutton or either of them, be,
and they are hereby made competent to he appointed
to the execution of any last will and testament, or to
the administration of any estate, in cases of intestacy
within this State, or to the guardianship of any minors,
and to have, exercise and enjoy all the rights, powers,
privileges and immunities, which belong to either or
all of the said Offices, in the same manner, and to the
same extent, as if the aforesaid Jane Hutton and Mar-
garet Hutton were native citizens of this State, any
law or usage to the contrary notwithstanding.
