CHAPTER 136.

Passed Mar. 7,
1838.

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act to authorise the
laying out and. opening a Road through a part of An-
ne Arundel and Montgomery counties.

Change of
location.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners named in the act
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
thirty-six, chapter one hundred and twenty-three, be,
and they are hereby authorised to make such change
or changes in the location of said road as they deem
expedient: provided, that, that part of said road in
Montgomery county shall be located on the northwest
side of the branch known by the name of Garner's
Spring Branch, until it reaches a small branch run-
ning out of the farm of Colonel Lyde Griffith, then
on the nearest and most practicable route, to the old
Quaker Road, neary Henry Griffith of Lyde.

Additional levy
directed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That, for the purpose of
laying out and opening said road, the further sum of
two hundred and seventy-five dollars is hereby appro-
priated, on the part of Anne Arundel, and seventy-five
dollars on the part of Montgomery counties, to be le-
vied on said counties respectively, and collected as
other county charges are now collected.

CHAPTER 137.

1838.

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act relating to the
public roads, in the several counties therein mention-
ed, passed in eighteen hundred and one, chapter fifty
four.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be the duty of overseers,
of the public roads in Charles county, to keep a true
and proper list, of all and every person or defaulter,
who being summoned as provided for in the act to
which this is a supplement, shall neglect or refuse to at-
tend at the times and places appointed as aforesaid, or if
attending, shall not perform his reasonable labor, and
