1837.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That every com-
missioner appointed as aforesaid, before he shall pro-
ceed to perform any duty under and by virtue of
this law, shall take and subscribe an oath or affirmation
before a justice of the peace in the city or county in
which such commissioner shall reside, well and faith-
fully to execute and perform all the duties of such com-
missioner under and by virtue of the laws of this State,
which oath or affirmation shall be filed in the Execu-
tive office of this State.

Oath of office.

An act for the relief of Basil D. Ball, of Anne Arundel
county.

Passed Feb. 27,
1838.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Anne Arundel county, and
the justices of the levy court of Prince George's coun-
ty are hereby authorised and required, each, to pay
Basil D. Hall, of Anne Arundel county, a sum of mo-
ney not exceeding fifty dollars, and they are hereby
authorised and required to assess and levy the same
on the assessable property of their respective counties
in the same manner as other county taxes are assessed

and levied; provided, that nothing in this act shall be
construed to exonerate the said Basil D. Hall from his
obligation to keep in repair for ten years, the bridge
over the Patuxent river, known by the name of Gov-
ernor's Bridge, as required by the act of the General
Assembly at December session eighteen hundred and
thirty-one, chapter one hundred and fifty-nine.

CHAPTER 99.

Proviso.

An act for the relief of Daniel H. Schleigh, of Wash-
ington county, an Insolvent Debtor.

Passed Feb. 28,
1838.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly, that Daniel H. Schleigh, of Washington
county, applied for the benefit of the insolvent laws of
