bond or bonds aforesaid.

CHAP. 247.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That any vacancies that may
from time to time occur by resignation, death, declining to
act, or any other cause, in the board of said commission-
ers, it shall be filled by the commissioners of Dorchester
county; the persons appointed to such vacancies being
however, hereby required before they shall be competent
to act, to enter into bond with sureties and condition, and
in penalty as prescribed by the second section of this act,

in regard to the commissioners herein named.

In case of va-
cancy.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act and all the
privileges, franchises and rights conferred hereby, shall ex-
pire and cease to be exercised at the expiration of three
years from and after the passage of this act.

An act to incorporate the Baltimore Manual Labor School
for Indigent Boys.

WHEREAS, Charles Gilman, John R. W. Dunbarr,
Samuel G. Wyman, John L. Carey, George W. Norris,
George S. Norris, William P. Stewart, Jesse T. Handy,
Hezekiah C. Magruder, Thomas E. Bond, Junior, Wil-
liam H. Beatty, Frederick A. Levering, John Kettle well,
and others, are desirous to associate themselves for the
benevolent purpose of relieving, instructing and employ-
ing indigent boys belonging to the city of Baltimore, and
its vicinity, and to enable them to carry the object of their
association fully into effect, have petitioned for an act of
incorporation — therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, Charles Gilman, John R. W. Dunbarr, Samuel
G. Wyman, John L. Carey, George W. Norris, George
S. Norris, William P. Stewart, Jesse T. Handy, Hezekiah
C. Magruder, Thomas E. Bond, Junior, William H. Beat-
ty, Frederick A. Levering, John Kettlewell, and their as-
sociates, together with such others as may become donors
and subscribers to the same object, in the manner herein-
after provided, be and they are hereby incorporated by the
name of the Baltimore Manual Labor School for Indigent
Boys; and they are hereby declared to be one community,
