A supplement to the act, entitled an act to regulate the Mu-
nicipal Government of Howard District of Anne Arundel
County.
|
|
|
Qualification of
voters.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That in the election of Commissioners within Howard
district, to take place on the first Saturday of April next,
all persons having a light to vote for Delegates to the
General Assembly, and none others, shall be entitled to
vote.

A further supplement to an act, entitled an act relating to
Insolvent Debtors, in the City and County of Baltimore,
passed December session eighteen hundred and sixteen,
chapter two hundred and twenty-one.
|
|
|
No fees charg-
able unless the
debt exceed fif-
ty dollars.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the fourth day of July next,
it shall not be lawful for the commissioners of insolvent
debtors for the city and county of Baltimore, nor for the
clerk of the said commissioners, to charge any fees which
might, but for the passage of this act, accrue upon the
application of any person for the benefit of the insolvent
laws of Maryland, unless the sum of the debt due by said
person at the time of his said application, shall exceed
the sum of fifty dollars.

Compensation
in case it ex-
ceed $50, and
not $200.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That when the sum of the
debts due by any person, at any time of his application as
aforesaid, shall exceed the sum of fifty, and not exceed
the sum of two hundred dollars, the said commissioners
and their clerk shall each receive as a compensation for all
their services connected with said application, the sum of

one dollar; provided nevertheless, that nothing in this act
contained shall be construed to prevent the said commis-
sioners or their clerk from charging in such cases, when
interrogatories are filed by the creditor, the same fees now
allowed by law, which fees shall in the first instance be
paid by the creditor, and be re-imbursed by the debtors,
in case the report of the commissioners be unfavorable
upon the ground of fraud.
