CHAPTER 97.

1839.

A supplement to an act entitled an act regulating cases
of suits for damages done by the trespass of stock, so
far as relates to Baltimore County.

Repeal as to hogs

or swine.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act to which this is a supplement, passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-seven,
chapter two hundred and eighty-seven, he and the same
is hereby repealed, so far as relates to hogs or swine
going at large, within five miles of the city bounds.

CHAPTER 98.

1839.

An act to condemn and lay off a lot of ground for a pub-
lic landing, on a certain farm called Hanover, on.
Brittons' Bay, in St. Mary's County, and make a pub-
road therein mentioned.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, by the petition of sundry citizens of St. Mary's
county, that they suffer great inconvenience for want
of a public landing on Britton's Bay, in said county,
and a public road thereto: — Therefore,

ered to lay out a

landing.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Robert Manning, William Woodward
and Enoch B. Abell, be and they are hereby appoint-
ed commissioners, to lay out, survey, mark and hound
a piece of ground, of such size and extent, as they, or
a majority of them, may deem expedient for a public
landing, on the farm called and known by the name
of Hanover, on Britton's Bay, in such a form, as the
nature of the ground and the convenience of the owner,
or owners of said farm, will permit.

And a road thereto.

Restriction.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, be and they are hereby
authorised to condemn and make public, a road leading
from the Leonard Town road, through said farm call-
ed Hanover, to said public landing; provided, that
nothing in this act shall be so construed, as to prevent
