An act authorizing the Levy Court of Frederick County,
in their discretion to levy a sum of money to build a
bridge over the Monocacy River, at Devilbiss Ford, on
the road to Liberty.

SECTION 1. Be ii enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Judges of the Levy Court of
Frederick county, be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered, in their discretion, to levy a sum of
money not exceeding five thousand dollars, on the as-
sessable property in said county, in three annual in-
stalments, for the purpose of building a bridge over the
Monococy river, at Devilbiss Ford, on the road to
Liberty.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Levy Court
aforesaid, be and. the same are hereby authorized to
contract with any person or persons to build said
bridge, and are required to take bond or bonds, with
sufficient security, from any contractor or contractors,
for the faithful performance of his, or their contract in
the usual form.

An act to abolish the Commissioners of the Tax and Le-
vy Court of Worcester County, provide for the election
of Commissioners for said county by the people, and
to prescribe their duties.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act.
the Levy Court, of Worcester county, be and the same
is hereby abolished.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That John Williams, Sr.
James Powell, William H. Merrill, Littleton Bowen,
James Fooks of D., John Fassett, Sr. and William
Showell, who constitute the present Levy Court of
Worcester county, be, and they are hereby created
a board of commissioners, who shall exercise all the
powers and perform ail the duties heretofore required
to be performed by the Levy Court of said county, un-
