TOBACCO,

— Scales and weights to be provided &c.

In case of sickness &c. a deputy inspec-

tor authorised.

Repair of warehouses authorised, and

payment therefor from tobacco fund,

If that fund be inadequate, then from

the public treasury.

In which case the legislature, at. their

next session, shall impose an additional

tax on outage.

The provisions of this, nor of the act

to which this is a supplement, shall not

apply to, inspected prior to February

1839.

Charge for outage, portage &c. at said

warehouses, until 1st. April 1840, shall

he as heretofore, $1 per hogshead; after

that period it shall be only fifty cents,

No inspector of, under a penalty of

$100 for every hogshead, shall during

his continuance in office buy or deal in.

or in any way meddle with or busey him-

self in procuring to be bought, sold or

consigned, any, except his own proper

crop. &c.

If the net proceeds paid into the trea-

sury in virtue of the act to which this is

a supplement, be inadequate to pay the

salaries of the inspectors, then the said

proceeds shall be equally divided between

the said inspectors.

But if in any subsequent year the re-

venue of said warehouses be adequate,

the arrearages shall be paid therefrom

by the treasurer

"

All regulations relating to warehouses

and the inspection of, in the several

counties, and in the city of Baltimore,

shall be applied to and obligatory on

those of this county, except so far as ex-

cepted by this act. and the act to which it

is a supplement,
