Treasurer of the Western Shore, provided true, faith-
ful and proper vouchers for the same, under oath, shall
be produced and exhibited at the time of their settle-
ment with the treasurer aforesaid.
|
CHAP. 64.
Vouchers under
oath required.
|
|
|
Sec. 2. And be enacted, That whenever any Inspec-
tor of Tobacco, at any of such warehouses, shall be
to bis duty, in such case, such Inspector shall appoint
a person of integrity and skill in the curing and pack-
ing tobacco, ami the quality and condition thereof; and
the person so appointed shall view and inspect, pass
and mark, or condemn and refuse,, as the case may be,
all tobacco brought to the said warehouses during the
sickness or disability of such sick or disabled Inspec-
tor, and that may be offered for inspection: provided
however, the person so appointed shall first take the
oath or affirmation of office, as the case may be, now
directed by law to be taken by the Inspectors; and the
said sick or disabled Inspector, and his securities,
shall be answerable for all tobacco inspected and pass-
ed by the person so appointed by him, in the same
manner as if he had personally officiated.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That whenever any of the
said warehouses shall require repairing or rebuilding,
it shall be the duty of the said inspectors to notify the
Governor of the same, who shall thereupon appoint as
ing three, to act as commissioners in contracting for,
and superintending the said necessary repairs and re-
building; and after the same shall have been completed
the costs and expenses thereof shall be paid for by the
Treasurer of the Western Shore, out of the tobacco
inspection fund for Prince George's County, which
may be paid into the treasury by said Inspectors, if
there should be sufficient for that purpose remaining in
the treasury, unexpended or unapplied, and if there be
not sufficient of said fund for that purpose remaining
in the treasury, then and in that case, said expenses
for, repairs and rebuilding shall be paid for by the trea-
surer aforesaid, out of any unappropriated money in
the treasury, in which latter event, for the purpose of
re-imbursing the State for any sum or sums thus paid
out of the treasury on account of said repairs and re-
