CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS, — Supplement to

the act of 1835, ch. 200, relating to,

In case of free negro or mulattoe con-

vict being ordered to be sold out of the

State, under the original act, there shall

be allowed by the sheriff, &c. making said

sale, out of the proceeds, to the officer ap-

prehending, prosecuting &c., one-fourth

of the proceeds of the sale — the balance

he shall pay to the State treasury,

so paid to the payment of the interest on

the loan contracted for the Maryland

Penitentiary, if any he due, if not, then

to reduction of the principal,
