CHAP. 374.

Council of Baltimore, and generally to do and execute
all such acts, matters, and things, as to them shall or
may appertain to do.
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the Legislature may
at any time, repeal, alter or amend this act.

An act to provide for the electing of Trustees for the
Ebenezer Methodist Episcopal Church at Williams-
town, in Somerset County, Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John McDaniel, John Humphreys,
Josephus Humphriss, William R. Byrd, and George
Tivilly, from and after the passage of this act, shall
be, and they are hereby created a body politic and cor-

porate in deed and law, by the name, style and title of
the Trustees of the Ebenezer Church at Williamstown,
in Somerset county, and that they, the trustees, by the
name aforesaid, and their successors, to be elected as
herein after mentioned, shall have perpetual succession,

hold, receive and enjoy to them and their successors
in fee simple, any estate, real, personal or mixed, not
exceeding two thousand dollars in the whole.

Legal qualification.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trustees, by
the name and title aforesaid, shall be able and capable
in law to sue and be sued, implead and be impleaded,

in any court of law or equity of this State, in as full
and effectual a manner as any other person, or persons,
bodies politic or corporate, may sue and be sued, plead
or be impleaded, and that it shall and may be lawful
for the said trustees, by the name and title aforesaid,

to cause to be made, and use one common seal, to au-
thenticate all acts and instruments of writing respect-
ing their business, and the same at pleasure to alter
and renew, and generally to organize and regulate all
affairs appertaining to the Ebenezer Church aforesaid.

Case of vacancy.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That at all times forever
hereafter, when any vacancy shall happen by the death,
resignation, removal or refusal to act, of any one or
