Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said company
shall have the right to purchase and hold land in the
counties of Charles, St. Mary's, Calvert and Prince
George's, not exceeding one thousand acres.

An act to incorporate the Carrollton Mining and
Manufacturing Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Christian Kemp, Richard Caton, John
Hann, Lewis Rodrick, Thomas Robinson, Rosby Carr,
William H. Smith, Philip McGaughram, William
Clarke, James Finney, William R. King, William
Lakin, Sebastiana Ramsburgh, Peter Souder, James
A. Johnson, Otho M. Linthicum, Manadier Mason,
and such other persons as may be hereafter associated
with them, shall be, and they are hereby incorporated
and made a body politic and corporate, under the

Name and style.

name and style of the Carrollton Mining and Manu-
facturing Company, for the purpose of mining and
manufacturing in Montgomery and Frederick counties,
and the prosecution of all such other operations as
may grow out of, or be connected with the said busi-
ness, and the said corporation under the name and style
of the Carrollton Mining and Manufacturing Com-
pany, is hereby vested with all the rights and pri-
vileges and powers conferred upon such companies,

by an act, entitled, an act prescribing general regula-
tions for the incorporation of manufacturing and mining
companies, passed the twenty-eighth day of March,
eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, and the said compa-
ny is hereby made subject to the restrictions and regu-
lations prescribed in said act.

Capital stock.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the capital stock of
said company shall not be less than five thousand dol-
lars, nor more than two hundred thousand dollars, to
be divided into shares of one hundred dollars each, to
