An act to establish, and confirm certain nets done by
Valentine W. Devarix, a Justice of ike Peace, in
Queen Ann's county.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Valentine W. Devorix, a justice of the peace for
Queen Ann's county, having hold the office of Post
Master, under the Government of the United States,
during the years eighteen hundred and thirty-five,
eighteen hundred and thirty-six, eighteen hundred and
thirty-seven, eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, and
eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, and having acted at
the same time as a justice of the peace, for Queen
Ann's county, in every case, all and singularly the act
or acts done, performed, or executed by, or before Va-
lentine W. Devorix, as a justice of the peace afore-
said, by virtue of his official authority under this
State, and within the proper limits of ins jurisdiction,
valid and effectual to all intents and purposes in the
like manner, as if the said Valentine W. Devorix, at
the time of doing or performing such act, or acts, had
not held the office of Post Master, under the Govern-
ment of the United States.

An act to abolish the, Commissioners of the Tax, and
Levy Court of Dorchester County, and provide for the
election of Commissioners, for said county, by the
people, and to prescribe their powers and duties.
|
Passed Mar. 25,
1839.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
the levy court of Dorchester county be, and the same is
hereby abolished.
