CHAP. 192.

the same; provided further, that all such alterations
shall be reported by said trustees to the Orphans' court
aforesaid, and by the register thereof recorded as
hereinbefore mentioned.

Trustees—location.

Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That the trustees herein
named, shall be trustees in the, several districts in
which they may reside, and be authorized to supply
the vacancies occasioned by the alteration in the
change of the limits of any school district, or the ad-
dition of any oilier school district.

Vacancies.

Sec. 15. And be it enacted, That the register of the
Orphans' court of said county, under the direction of
said court, shall annually, on, or about the first day of

trict schools in operation in said county, the number
of children instructed therein, the expenses thereof,
and all other matters and things which said court may
believe calculated to advance the prosperity of said

nually, for the use of said register, a sum not exceeding
fifty dollars, as a compensation for the services requir-
ed of him by this act.

An act to encourage the growth of the Mulberry and the
raising of Silk at the Alms and Work House of Mont-
gomery County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it appeals to this Legislature, that the
growing of the Mulberry and the production of Silk at
the Alms and Work House of Montgomery county,
may lessen the annual expense of said house to said
county, and furnish useful and easy labour to a portion
of its inmates who may not otherwise have employment,

or be so usefully employed.

Levy directed.

Limit $180.

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners for Montgomery
county, shall levy on the assessable property of said
county, such sum or sums of money, not exceeding
however in all, the sum of one hundred and eighty
dollars, as may from time to time be required by the
