An act to consolidate the Offices of Sheriff, and Collector
of the tax, in Calvert county.

Sheriff to be collec-
tor.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the first day of June,
eighteen hundred and forty, or after the levy for eigh-
teen hundred and forty, in Calvert county, shall be laid,
the commissioners court of said county, be, and they
are hereby authorised and directed to appoint the then
sheriff of said county, the collector of the tax.

Bond required.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said sheriff shall
within ten days after being notified of such appoint-
ment, give such bond as is required to be given by the
collector of said county, under the penalty of five hun-
dred dollars for such neglect.
CHAPTER 159.

An act to extend the time of the Constables of Baltimore
County to appear before the Grand Jurors of said
county.
|
|
|
Time extended.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the time
limited for the constables of Baltimore county, to
appear before the grand jurors of said county, shall
be, and the same is hereby extended from the first to
the third day of the session of said grand jurors, and
not longer.
