the intent and meaning of said deed should be carried
fully into effect; — Therefore,

CHAP. 153.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
that the deed aforesaid, executed by Robert Bruce, to
Samuel M. Semmes, he, and the same is hereby made
good and valid in law, in as full and perfect a manner
as if the name of the grantee therein had been inserted
in the habendum of said deed at the time of the execu-
tion thereof, and in as full and perfect a manner as if
the acknowledgement of the said deed had been taken
and made in strict conformity with law.

CHAPTER 152.

Deed confirmed.

An act to change the names of Willis Sears, Ann Sears,
Mary Sears, and Amelia Scars, of Dorchester Coun-
ty, to that of Willis Hurlock, Ann Hurlock, Mary
Hurlock, and Amelia Hurlock.

Passed Mar. 6,
1839.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the names of Willis Scars, Ann Scars, Mary
Sears, and Amelia Sears, illigitimate children of James
Hurlock, of Dorchester county, deceased, be, and they
are hereby changed and altered to that of Willis Hur-
lock, Ann Hurlock, Mary Hurlock, and Amelia Hur-
lock, and it shall and may be lawful for the said Willis
Hurlock, Ann Hurlock, Mary Hurlock and Amelia

Names changed.

Hurlock, at all times hereafter to be called and known
by, and hold and use the name of Willis Hurlock, Mary
Hurlock, Ann Hurlock, and Amelia Hurlock, and by
that, name to sue and be sued in any court of law or
equity.

CHAPTER 153.

Acts confirmed.

An act to authorise the Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore to pass any ordinance or ordinances for extend-
ing and changing the location of Maddison Street.

Passed Mar. 6,
1839.

WHEREAS, by the petition of Chauncey Brooks and
others, it is represented that public convenience and
the improvement of the city of Baltimore would be
