or their interest and stock in the said company, shall thereafter cease to be a member or members
of the said company to all intents and purposes.

CHAP.
XLIX.

XIII. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the president and each director, before he enters upon the du-
ties of his office, shall take the following oath, or affirmation, as the case may be: "I do solemnly
swear, or affirm, that I will impartially, faithfully, diligently and honestly, execute the duties of
conformably to the constitution or articles of association of the same, and the trusts reposed
in me, to the best of my skill and judgment; " and the clerks, book-keepers and other officers, shall
also take a similar oath, or affirmation, and shall besides give bond, with security, to the satisfaction
of the president and directors, for the faithful discharge of their duties in their respective stations.

A Further additional supplement to an act, entitled, An act to in-
corporate companies to make several turnpike roads through Balti-
more county, and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the period of time allowed to the
stockholders of the Baltimore and Reister's-town turnpike company for agreeing to the exten-
sion of the road mentioned in the act passed at November session, eighteen hundred and five, enti-
tled, A further supplement to an act, entitled, An act to incorporate companies to make several
turnpike roads through Baltimore county, and for other purposes, be and the same is hereby extend-
ed for the term of three years after the expiration of the period aforesaid, which is prescribed in the
said act.

An ACT to revive and continue an act, entitled, An act authorising
Joseph Green, late sheriff and collector of Charles county, to com-
plete his collection.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That an act passed at November session,
eighteen hundred and seven, entitled, An act authorising Joseph Green, late sheriff and collec-
tor of Charles county to complete his collection, be and the same is hereby revived and continued
until the first day of December, one thousand eight hundred and nine.

An act revived

An ACT to authorise the judges of Saint-Mary's county court to
direct a division or sale of the real estate of Robert Young, late of
Saint-Mary's county, deceased.

Dec. 1808.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition of Jonathan Abel, and
Harriet Abel his wife, Philippa Y. Corum, Anne Corum, Jemima Corum, Elizabeth Corum,
Lucretia Corum, John Corum. and Maria Thomas, devisees of Robert Young, late of Saint-Mary's
county, deceased, that they have a right in common to a tract or parcel of land under the will of the
said Young, and that it will conduce much to their interest that it should be divided or sold, for the
benefit of the petitioners; and the same appearing reasonable, therefore,

Preamble.

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That an application of the said devisees,
or either of them, or the guardians of either of the minors, to the judges of Saint-Mary's county
court, the said judges shall, and they are hereby authorised and empowered, to appoint commission-
ers, to divide or sell the real estate of the said Robert Young, on such terms as to them shall seem
proper, and the money arising from the sale thereof shall be applied to the use and benefit of the de-
visees of Robert Young, agreeably to the last will and testament of the said Young; provided, that
such sale shall not be decreed unless it shall appear to the said judges that it will be for the advan-
tage of those of the said devisees that are minors.
