IX.

Judgments, &c.
revived, &c.

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That all the judgments, rules, entries,
acts, process and proceedings, depending in the said court on the day aforesaid, shall be and the
same are hereby revived, and shall be in the same state and condition, to all intents and purposes,
as the same would have been in if the said court had met on the said second Tuesday in August, and
the said judgments, rules, entries, acts, process and proceedings, had been duly continued by regu-
lar and lawful adjournments from time to time.

III. AND, whereas the justices of said court, notwithstanding the discontinuance aforesaid, have
transacted the ordinary business of said court, therefore, BE IT ENACTED, That all the judgments,
rules, entries, acts, process and proceedings, made and rendered by the justices of said court since
the time aforesaid, either in cases then depending, or since commenced, shall be, and the same are
hereby made, as valid and effectual, as if the said court had met at the time to which the same stood
adjourned.

Preamble.

An ACT for the relief of John Dilworth, of Frederick county.

WHEREAS John Dilworth, of Frederick county, emigrated to, and settled in, this state, and
since his emigration and settlement as aforesaid has acquired real property therein, and his
title to such property, from his not having become naturalized agreeably to the laws of the United
States, may be called in question, to his great detriment and injury; therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the title of the real property, law-
fully and fairly acquired by the aforesaid John Dilworth, whether such title be derived by gift, grant,
purchase or devise, be and the same is hereby amply and as fully vested in the aforesaid John Dil-
worth, to all intents and purposes, as if he had been naturalized agreeably to said laws; provided
always, that nothing in this act contained shall in any manner defeat or affect any right, title or,
claim, to the said property, or any part thereof, acquired or prosecuted by any person or persons
whatever before the passage of this act; and provided also, in case the said John Dilworth hath not
as yet become a citizen of the United States, that unless he shall, on or before the tenth day of Sep-
tember next, proceed according to law to make himself a citizen of the United States, this act shall
have no effect to confirm his title to the property above mentioned; but if the said John Dilworth
die before the said tenth day of September next, nothing in this proviso contained shall prevent him
from transmitting or transferring his said property, by descent or devise, to any person or persons,
being a citizen or citizens of the United States, and residing therein, capable in law to hold the
same.

Preamble.

An ACT for the relief of John Troxel, of Frederick county.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition of John Troxel, of Fre-
derick county, that a certain Patrick Bradley, a native of Ireland, emigrated to, and settled
in, this state, and hath since become a citizen thereof; that previous to his naturalization he pur-
chased, in fee-simple, a house and lot in Emmitsburgh, in Frederick county, which he afterwards sold
and conveyed to a certain Patrick Reid, and which said Reid hath since, for a valuable considera-
tion, transferred to the said petitioner, who is now in possession thereof; that his title lo the same
is insecure, and liable to be affected by an escheat warrant, by reason of the said Patrick Bradley's
having been an alien at the time of his purchasing said properly, and praying that an act may pass to
confirm his title lo the same; therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the title of the said John Troxel
to the aforesaid lot of ground shall be, and the same is hereby made, as perfect and complete, to all
intents and purposes, as if the said Patrick Bradley had been naturalized previous to the purchase
of the same, any thing in the laws of this state to the contrary notwithstanding; provided always,
that nothing in this act contained shall in any manner affect or defeat any right, title or claim, to the
said property, or any part thereof, acquired by any person or persons previous to the passage of this
act.
