No. 18.

Passed Feb.
13, 1844.

Resolution favor of Mary McCracken.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, Thai
the Treasurer of the Western Shore, be and he is hereby
authorised and required to pay unto Mary McCracken, of
Harford county, or to her order, during life, in quarter
yearly payments a sum of money equal to the half pay of
a private, in consideration of services rendered by her hus-
band James McCracken during the war of the revolution.

12, 1844.

Resolution to supply the clerk of Howard District Court,
of Anne Arundel county, with the reports of the Court
of Appeals.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Librarian, be and he is hereby required to supply the
clerk of the Court of Howard District of Anne Arundel
county, with the reports of the Court of Appeals of this
State, for the use of said court.

Passed Feb.
13, 1844.

Resolutions relative to the sale of the coupons and interest
on the stock of the State, standing to the credit of the
sinking fund.

Whereas by the several acts of assembly, creating the
sinking fund, and providing for its accumulation, the said
fund with its accumulations are appropriated to the extin-
quishment of the public debt, and doubts being entertained
in reference to the power and expediency of disposing of
the coupons and interest due upon the stock standing to the
credit of the said fund, which in the opinion of this Gen-
eral Assembly, should be kept in a state of activity and
productiveness.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer proceed in his discretion as soon as conven-
iently may be, and from time to time if necessary, to sell
for the highest market price, in the city of Baltimore, in
