allowed by the existing laws in said esses made and pro-
vided.

Make affidavit

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Philip Petti-
bone, shall in all cases before he proceeds to collect said
taxes, make affidavit before a justice of the peace of Antie
Arundel county, that the said taxes are due, and that he has
not received the same or any part thereof other than the
credit given.

In force one
year.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this law shall be in
force one year and no longer.

 

CHAPTER 355.

An act directing the commissioners of the tax of Dorchester
county, to publish annually a statement of their receipts and
disbursements.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of the tax for Dorches-
ter county, shall publish annually a fair and accurate sum-
mary statement of all receipts and expenditures of the
twelve months, next preceding the closing of the annual
levy by said commissioners, in some paper published in the
town of Cambridge, not exceeding three insertions, under
the penalty of the forfeiture of the pay of the members of
the board of commissioners of the tax during the twelve
months aforesaid, in case they fail to make such publica-
tion, and the sheriff of said county, shall cause a printed
copy of said statement, to be put up in some public place,
on the day of the annual elections in said county, where the
election is held, in every district in said county, and in case
of neglect in any case, the said sheriff shall be fined by the
county court, for every offence, the sum of twenty dollars,
one half of which for the use of the informer, and the resi-

Sec. 2. And beit enacted, That the said statement shall
designate as far as practicable the various sums disbursed,
and the purposes to which the same shall have been appro-
priated, stating with reference to the following heads of
expenditure or allowances, the aggregate amount of each
one of them separately, to wit: the pay: of each of the
commissioners of tax of the county; the pay of the clerk,
attorney and other person or persons in their service; fees
paid for legal service and advice; fees and allowances to
