of the city of Baltimore, and William George Read and
Sophia C. Read his wife, and their heirs and assigns, pro-
prietors of the land lying on each side of Talley in the
city aforesaid, which runs from Welcome alley to Lee
street, at a distance of about one hundred and twenty-five
feet east from Howard street, to close the said Talley,

and to include the same, in equal parts, within their re-
spective adjoining lots; provided, that this act shall be of
no force until the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore
shall assent to the same by ordinance.

An act for the relit/ of James McHenry Boyd and others.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be lawful for James McHenry
Boyd, James H. McHenry, Ross Winans, John Morrow,
Alexander Lorman and------------Wheeler, the proprie-
tors of the land fronting on each side of that portion of
Washington Avenue which lies between Pratt street and
Columbia street, in the city of Baltimore, and to their
heirs and assigns proprietors as aforesaid, to close all the
above mentioned portion of the said Washington Avenue;

provided, that the Baltimore and Washington Turnpike
company shall first file their assent in writing with the re-
gister of the city of Baltimore and the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore shall approve of the proposed clo-
sing by ordinance.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said avenne
shall be closed as above provided, it shall be lawful to
the said J. H. Boyd, J. H. McHenry, Ross Winans, John
Morrow, Alexander Lorman and------------Wheeler, or
a majority of them, to nominate in writing to the Mayor
of Baltimore, three commissioners, who, if approved by
him, shall proceed at the cost of the said Boyd McHenry,
Winans, Morrow, Lorman and Wheeler, to apportion the
bed of the said avenue, between the parties aforesaid pro-
portionally as near as may be, to the number of feet front-
ing on the part of the said avenue closed as aforesaid in
their respective adjacent lots, and the said land by metes
and bounds to the several distributees their heirs and as-
signs, and to record their proceedings, at the cost of the
said distributees, among the land records of Baltimore
