CHAPTER 292.

Passed March
7, 1844.

An act to provide for the distribution of the school fund
in Baltimore county.

The fund now
appropriated
to academies
to be paid to
commissioners

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the eight hundred dollars which is now appropriated
to the academies in Baltimore county, be and the same is
hereby directed to be, after the current year paid by the
Treasurer of the Western Shore, annually to the commis-
sioners of Baltimore county, or their order; and the said
commissioners shall pay over said fund to the trustees of
the primary schools, in the several election districts in said
county, in manner and form as prescribed by the act of
eighteen hundred and twenty-eight, chapter one hundred
eighty-five, and the said trustees of the primary schools,
shall appropriate said fund as provided by the act above
mentioned, and the several supplements thereto.

 

CHAPTER 293.

8, 1844.

An additional supplement to an act entitled, an act to regulate
sales by public auction, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and twenty-seven, chapter one hundred and eleven.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and aAer the first day of April next, all stocks
of banks or other incorporated institutions, State or city
loans, goods and effects of deceased persons or insolvent
debtors or property under an order or decree of any court,
sold at public auction by any person or persons, who shall
take out a license to sell by auction in the manner pre-
scribed in the act to which this is a supplement, shall be
subjected to a duty of one half of one per centum of the
amount for which the same shall be sold, to be paid by the
person who shall sell the same, and accounted for and paid
into the State Treasury, by the auctioneer making such sale
in the manner and at the time now required by law.
