chap. 249.

Issues forbid.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contain-
ed shall be construed as to authorize this corporation to
issue any device, token, note, certificate or other evidence
of debt to be used as a currency.

Right reser-
ved.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That the right is hereby
expressly reserved to the general assembly of Maryland
at its pleasure to alter or repeal the act of incorporation.

 

CHAPTER 248.

4, 1844.

An act to authorize the Levy Court of Frederick county to
make an appropriation for the Frederick and Buckeyes
town Road,

Levy court to
levy.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Levy Court of Frederick county, be, and they
are hereby authorized in their discretion, to levy upon the
taxable property of said county, a sum of money not ex-
ceeding four hundred dollars, for the purpose of repairing
by a good and substantial wall or otherwise the road at
the sand hole on the Frederick and Buckey's town road,
so as to make the same free from danger.

Whereas, it is represented to this general assembly
that a number of the inhabitants of Howard District and
Baltimore counties have formed themselves into a society
whose object is the promotion of literature and the en-
couragement of the arts and sciences by providing a
library, reading-rooms, and lecture rooms, and all neces-
