shall be returned by said commissioners to the commis-
sioners of tax of Montgomery county and Howard Dis-
trict respectively, who are hereby authorized and required
to assess and levy upon the said county and district re-
spectively, so much of the damages, costs and charges
as occurred in their county and district respectively, and
the said commissioners of tax of the county and Howard
District aforesaid, shall and may allow to the commis-
sioners hereby appointed, two dollars per day, for every
day they may be occupied in the discharge of the duties

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That when said road
shall be opened as aforesaid, it shall thereafter be consi-
dered as a county road, and kept in repair as other public
roads are in said county and district respectively.

CHAPTER 246.

 

An art to change the name of Arnold Elsey Jones, of So-
merset county, to that of Arnold Elsey.

Passed March
4, 1844.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the name of Arnold Elsey Jones of So-
merset county, be and the same is hereby changed and
altered unto that of Arnold Elsey, and it shall and may
be lawful for the said Arnold Elsey Jones, at all times
hereafter, to be called and known by, and hold and use
the name of Arnold Elsey, and by that name to sue and

be sued in any court of law or equity.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all securities, promises,
contracts, assurances, deeds and lawful acts whatsoever,
heretofore made or done, or hereafter to be made by or to
the said Arnold Elsey Jones, by the name of Arnold El-
sey, shall be of full force and effect, any law or usage to
the contrary notwithstanding.

my in Baltimore county.
