and held at the City of Annapolis, on the last Monday of
December, being the twenty-fifth day of said month, in the
year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty-
three, and ended the ninth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and forty-four.

CHAP. 1.

An act to allow further time to Stephen H. Gough, sheriff
of Saint Mary's County, to execute his bond for the
year eighteen hundred and forty-four.

30, 1843.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Stephen H. Gough, sheriff of St. Mary's
county, be and he is hereby, allowed until the thirtieth day
of January, in the year eighteen hundred and forty-four, to
execute his bond to the State, as sheriff of St. Mary's
county, for the year eighteen hundred and forty-four, and
that said bond, if executed and approved, on or before
that day, shall be as valid and binding on said sheriff and

his sureties, as if executed within the time limited by law.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all official acts done, or
to be done and performed by said sheriff, after he shall have
bonded as aforesaid, shall be as valid and effectual in law,
