ference in passing locks, &c.; the manner in

   

which boats, &c. shall pass each other, and

   

what kind of lights they shall carry in the

   

night, to prevent the canal from being ob

   

structed by boats, &c. by being made fast to

   

either side; to prescribe where and which

   

side of canal boats, rafts, &c. shall be an

   

chorcd; to regulate the navigation, and to

   

make all needful rules (o prevent frauds in

   

payment of tolls, &c. penalty prescribed for

   

violating, &c.

Penalty prescribed, if any person naviga-

   

ting, canal take or destroy any fences, &c. if

   

any person having lands along the lineof ca-

   

nal, &c.

Penalty for carelessly breaking any loci

   

and how recovered.
