TAXES. — Collectors of the tax in the several counties in

returning and advertising for sale land char-

ged for the payment of, &c. and liable to be

sold, in all cases where such lands assessed

in the name of the person deceased or en-

tered upon the books as belonging to the

heirs &c. to return and advertise the same

as chargeable in general terms,

In all cases where the title to lands pur-

chased under sales made by collectors is in-

volved, title not affected by reason of return,

Sheriff and Collector of direct or income

tax levied for the use of the state authorised

to receive in payment of the same any cou-

pon or coupons of interest on any of the

bonds of the state due, also certificates of

interest issued by commississioner of loans;

coupons &c. only receivable for the years for

which they are due,

To take receipt from person making pay-

ment in due form of payment of said cou-

pon &c. on the part of the state, receipt to

be returned with each coupon &c. as vouch-

ers to commissioner of loans, who shall re-

ceipt to sheriff &c. for the same by him to

be delivered to the Treasurer at the usual

time of making returns &c. Treasurer to re-

ceive the same,

&c. no certificate to be issued for less than

$5 unless for interest due on single bond,
