RESOLUTIONS;

Court of Appeals of this State, by Samuel Gordon, of Vir-
ginia, and James Cheston, of the city of Baltimore, sug-
gesting error in the judgment of the Court of Appeals of
Maryland, upon their appeals from the decision of the ap-
peal tax court of the city of Baltimore — therefore,
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Governor be and he is hereby authorized and directed,
to engage the counsel who argued said cases in the Court
of Appeals, also to appear and manage the same on behalf
of this Stale, in the Supreme Court of the United States,
and that he pay them out of any money in the treasury not
otherwise appropriated, the sum of three hundred dollars
each.

Resolution for the payment of members and officers of
the Legislature.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore be and he is hereby
authorized, to pay to the several members of this general
assembly, and the several officers thereof, or to their re-
spective orders, the several sums of money now due or
that from time to time may become due to them respective-
ly, and for which they shall obtain certificates from the
committee on claims of the present house of delegates,

Resolution directing the Librarian to furnish the Treasurer
of the Western Shore with a copy of the late census.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Librarian furnish the Treasurer of the Western Shore
one copy of the census of the United States, for eighteen
hundred and forty.
