SEC. 4 And be it enacted, That all and every law here-
tofore existing or in use which is repugnant to, or inconsistent
with the provisions of this act, shall be, and is hereby re-
pealed, so far as relates to Talbot county.

CHAPTER 30.

 

An act to regulate the meeting of the Orphan's Court of Mont-
gomery County.

Passed Jan.
23, 1843.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the regular terms of the Orphan's Court
of Montgomery County, shall be held on the second Tues-
day in every month of February, April, June, August, Oc-
tober, and December, and the said Court shall by its ad-
journment, if necessary for the despatch of business, be held
on the Tuesday of every week in the year other than the
weeks of the regular terms.

Time of meet-
ing.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Orphan's
Court shall sit for the transaction of business, from nine
o'clock A. M. until four o'clock P. M. and the sessions of
said Court shall not at any time exceed one day, except at
the regular time of holding the County Courts of said
County, when the said Orphan's Court may sit during the
whole term of said County Court, if necessary for the de-

spatch of business; provided nevertheless, that the said Or-
phan's Court shall be and is hereby authorised to continue
its sessions from day to day, whenever it shall appear to
them to be necessary, for the purpose of examining wit-
nesses or hearing an argument or arguments in any case
which they may hereafter have before them, where the ex-
amination of the witnesses, and the hearing of the argument
cannot be concluded on the usual day of their meeting, upon
which said examination of witnesses, or said argument shall
have commenced.

Proviso,

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all laws inconsistent
with the provisions of this act, be and the same are hereby
repealed.

Repealed.
