LAWS OF MARYLAND.

1842

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall hereafter be the duty of the supervisors in
Frederick county to remove such snow drifts as render the
roads under their care wholly impassible for several days,
and their accounts for labor thus employed shall be allow-
ed by the levy court in part of the appropriations previous-
ly made, and the court may make such other allowance as
in their discretion may be reasonable to meet any extraordi-
nary case.

CHAPTER 24.

 

An act for the relief of Richard Schriver of Calvert County.

Passed Jan.
21, 1843.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Levy Court of Calvert County, be, and they are
hereby authorised and required to levy on the assessable
property of said county for the use of Richard Schriver
of said county, thirty dollars annually.

CHAPTER 25.

A further supplement to the act entitled, An act for the better
regulation of Apprentices.

Passed Jan.
23, 1843.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the orphans courts of the several counties
of this state, be and they are hereby authorised and em-
powered to hear and determine all matters in dispute be-
tween masters and apprentices; to grant releases to appren-
tices heretofore bound; to re-bind apprentices that may be
released for cause or otherwise, and to do all other acts in
relation to masters and apprentices that are now exercised
by the county courts.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That in all cases wherein
the orphans courts of this state may be required to inter-
fere between master and apprentice, that either party feel-
ing himself or herself aggrieved by the decision or judg-
ment of any orphans court, may carry his or her complaint
up to the county court, under an appeal for a re-hearing and

days after the decision or judgment of such orphans court.
