CHAP. 218.

An act to extend the time of Thomas H. Ford, former Sheriff
of Queen Anne's County, to complete his collections.

Passed Feb.
21, 1S43.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the time allowed to Thomas H. Ford, former sheriff
of Queen Anne's county, by the act passed at December
session eighteen hundred and forty-one, chapter two hun-
dred and forty-nine, be and the same is hereby extended to
the first day of June eighteen hundred and forty-four.

CHAPTER 217.

 

An act for the benefit of William R. Hayward, of Dorches-
ter County.

Passed Feb.
25, 1843.

lie it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That William R. Hayward of Dorchester county, be and
he is hereby authorised and empowered to record in the
office of the clerk of Dorchester county, the name of a cer-
tain negro slave named Edward, and that the recording of
said slave shall have as full force and effect in law, as if the
same had been done within the time required by the act of
Assembly, passed at December session session eighteen hun-

dred and thirty nine, chapter fifteen; provided, the name of
said slave shall be recorded within thirty days after the
passage of this act, and, provided also, that the provisions
of the said act be fully complied with.

CHAPTER 218.

An act to authorise the extension of the limits of direct taxa-
tion within the City of Baltimore.

Passed March
2, 1843.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the mayor and city council of Baltimore, be and are
hereby authorised to extend the limits of direct taxation
within the said city, from time to time as they shall deem it
expedient so to do, in any and every direction, and to any
extent within the limits of said city as now ascertained by
