for which they shall receive one dollar for each day or
part of a day that they may be thus employed.
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That any award made out by
the aforesaid judges, may be collected as other debts in
civil cases before any tribunal that may have jurisdiction
over such sums awarded by the aforesaid judges.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the judges appointed
under the provisions of this act, before they shall proceed
to act, shall go before some justice of the peace and make
oath, that in the event of being called upon under the pro-
visions of this act, that they will repair to the place and
view the case impartially without favour or affection to
either parly, and make out their award accordingly.
Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the judges, under the provisions of this act, to return a cer-
tificate of their qualification to the clerk of the county, to
be filed in the clerks office, before the expiration of twenty
days after their qualification.

CHAPTER 246.

 

A supplement to the act entitled, an act to incorporate the
Town of Westminster, in Carroll County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the eleventh and twelfth sections of the act entitled,
an act to incorporate the town of Westminster, in Carroll
county, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
thirty-eight, chapter four hundred and eighteen, be and the
same are hereby repealed.

Repealed.

CHAPTER 247.

 

An act to empower the County Court of Queen Anne's
County to divide the Real Estate therein mentioned.

1, 1842.

Whereas, it has been represented to this General As-
sembly by the petition of Philemon S. Murphy and James
Massey, legal guardian to Thomas Murphy, Anna Maria
Murphy and James Massey Murphy, children and heirs at
law of the late Thomas Murphy and children and devisees
of the late Sarah Winchester, formerly Sarah Murphy, that
the said Thomas Murphy died seized in fee of several tracts
