1841.

county, is hereby authorised and empowered by himself, or
any other person or persons by him appointed for that pur-
pose, to institute suits and other legal proceedings; provided,
the same be had and instituted on or before the first day of
April, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty
four, for the recovery and collection of all sums and balan-
ces due him as sheriff of Allegany county.

CHAP. 14.

Proviso.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the said Thomas Dowden, before he proceeds to execute
or distrain the property of any person or persons, for the
payment of public dues or officers' fees, in virtue of this
act, to deliver to such person or persons chargeable with
the same, at least thirty days previous to the levying such
execution or distress, an account written in words at full
length, of the public dues or officers' fees, demanded of
him, her, or them, with an affidavit annexed thereto, that
he hath not received any part thereof, nor any security or
satisfaction for the same, further than credited, to the best
of his knowledge and belief.

CHAPTER 13.

 

An act entitled, an act to change the place of holding elec-
tions in the seventh election district, of Howard District, of
Anne Arundel County.

Passed Jan. 15,
1842.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
the place of holding elections, in the seventh election dis-
trict, of Howard District, of Anne Arundel county, shall
be Cooksville, in said district

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That so much of any act, or:
acts, as shall have established any other place for holding
elections in said seventh district, be, and the same is hereby
repealed..

CHAPTER 14.

 

An act for the relief of David Trundle, of Frederick County;

Passed Jan. 17,.

1842.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Frederick county, be, and
they are hereby authorized to levy upon the assessable
property of Frederick county, a sufficient amount to cover
the expenses, and. compensate David Trundle, for the ex-
