MONTGOMERY

COUNTY— After the first of July,

1841, the act to establish magistrates

courts, &c. passed 1835, chapter 201, &c.

repealed, as relates to,

Single justices to have jurisdiction in all

cases where they had jurisdiction prior to

the act of 1835, chapter 201; and also in

cases of debt where the amount does not

exceed $100; in all cases above $50, the

justice to be allowed double the costs that

single justices are now allowed; each par-

ty to have the right of appeal, &c.

All constables bonds to be taken in, to

be taken in the penal sum of $2, 000, and

all taken under the act of 1835, chap. 201,

continued in force,

"

All cases depending in the magistrates

courts in, on the first of July, 1841, which

would be within the jurisdiction of single

magistrates under this act, to be transfer-

red to some justice of the peace in the dis-

trict where depending, to be heard and de-

termined; and all cases depending as afore-

said, which would not be within the juris-

diction of single justices, to be transferred

to the county court, &c.

"

Chief judges of district courts of, re-

quired, on or before the 1st of July, 1841,

to return to the clerk of, the dockets, &c.

said clerk to pursue, with respect to cases

on said dockets, the directions prescribed

by the 5th section, &c.

Where judgments have been rendered

by said courts, single justices to issue

when required, &c.

"

Upon all judgments rendered by magis-

trates courts prior to this law taking effect,

right of appeal secured, &c.

weeks, before the first of July,
