1841.

CHAPTER 39.

An act to authorise the Primary School Commissioners of
Queen Ann's County, to organize and establish new
Districts in said county.

CHAP. 40.

Passed April 6,
1841.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
the primary school commissioners for Queen Ann's county,
or a majority of them, be and they hereby authorised and
empowered, in their discretion, to organize and establish
new primary school districts in said county; and said school
districts, when so organized and established, shall have all
the rights and privileges of the, other primary school dis-
tricts in said county, and shall be regulated and conducted
in the same manner.

Authority given.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners,
immediately after they shall lay off and establish any new
school district, shall describe and number the same, in
writing, and deliver the number and description thereof to
the clerk of the county, to be by him filed and recorded
among the record of his office; and all acts of the General
Assembly now in force, relating to and regulating primary
school districts in said county, shall apply to and govern
all districts and schools which may be established under
this act.


CHAPTER 40.

To number dis-
tricts, &c.

An act to repeal an act, passed at December session, eight-
teen hundred and thirty-eight, chapter four hundred and
fourteen, entitled an act to vest certain powers in the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, and for other
purposes.

Passed Mar. 3,
1841.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the act, entitled an act to vest certain
powers in the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-eight,
chapter four hundred and fourteen, be and the same is
hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That after the passage of this
law, the clerk of the Baltimore city court, shall be allowed
only three per cent, on monies paid by him into the Wes-
