INSOLVENT

BANKS— The courts of this State, upon

petition of any party holding, &c. in trust,

of the notes payable on demand &c. of

any, may direct an inspection and audit of

such bank notes, and after particular count,

&c. made under order of and filed in court,

shall direct said notes to be burned, &c.

and report of such burning to be made to

the court, &c.

INTERNAL,

IMPROVEMENT— So much of fifth sec-

tion of act for the promotion of, passed

June, 1836, ch. 395, as makes it the duty

of the Baltimore and Ohio rail road com-

pany to construct said road so as to pass

through Hagerstown, &c. repealed; and the

forfeiture of $1, 000, 000 reserved to Stale

of Maryland as a penalty in case said rail

road company shall not locate said road in

the manner provided for in that act, be re-

mitted; and any suit instituted to recover

said sum, to be discontinued, &c.

Right reserved to State, if after comple-

tion of said road to the Ohio river, the le-

gislature deem it expedient to require the

said rail road company to construct a late-

ral road from some convenient point of the

main stem up Antietam valley to Hagers-

town; said lateral road not to cost for con-

struction and damages, &c. more than

$350, 000,
