ASSENTED TO BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND,
AT DECEMBER SESSION, A. D. 1840.

No. 1.

Resolution requesting the Governor to issue a commission
to the Honorable John Leeds Kerr, as Senator from this
State, to the Congress of the United States.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Governor be requested to issue a commission, in the
usual form, to the Honorable John L. Kerr, as Senator
from this State, to the Congress of the United States, for
the residue of the term for which the Honorable John S.
Spence, deceased, was elected.

Resolution in relation to paying the Members and Officers
of the Legislature, and the Electors of President and
Vice President.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore, be and he is hereby
authorised to pay to the several members of this General
Assembly, and the several officers thereof, or to their re-
spective orders, the several sums of money now due, or
that, from time to time, may become due to them respec-
tively; also, to the Electors of President and Vice Presi-
