SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any hawker or pedlar,
who may be found trading, bartering or selling, or offering
to trade, barter or sell any goods, wares or merchandize,
as aforesaid, without having his, her or their license with
him, her or them, at the time, or who shall refuse, on re-
quest of any sheriff or constable, to show his, her or their
license, shall be considered as committing a violation of
this act.

Compensation

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That for every apprehension
and conviction under this act, the sheriff or constable, or
any other person apprehending, shall be entitled to receive
the sum of three dollars, to be recovered as part of the
costs.

Clerks to pay
over money re-
ceived by them
for licenses.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That all sums of money re-
ceived by the clerks of the county courts of this State,
for the granting of licenses under the provisions of this act,
shall be by them, respectively, accounted for, and paid
over to the treasurer of the shore where the said licenses
were granted, in the same manner as is now required by
law.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the clerk of any county
court, who may be required to grant a license, under the
provisions of this act, to any hawker or pedlar, shall be
entitled to receive the sum of one dollar, to be paid to
him by the said hawker or pedlar, for each and every li-
cense so granted.

Inconsistent
laws repealed.
|
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That all such acts or parts
of acts, which are repugnant to or inconsistent with the
provisions of this act, be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.

An act to direct the manner in which the Agents to repre-
sent the State in all Joint Stock Companies, in which
the State has an interest, shall hereafter be appointed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be the duty of the Legislature, on
concurrent vote of the two houses, to appoint during the
present session, and annually thereafter, five suitable per-
sons, a majority of whom shall represent the State at all
