jection in pursuance of directions contained in Article 14
of the Constitution of this State, and at the said general
election, the vote on the said proposed amendment shall be
by ballot, and upon each ballot there shall be printed the
words "For the Constitutional Amendment" and "Against
the Constitutional Amendment", as now prescribed by law,
and immediately after said election due returns shall be
made to the Governor of the vote for and against said pro-
posed amendment as directed by said Article 14 of the
Constitution.

CHAPTER 408
(House Bill 621)

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Prince
George's County to borrow a sum not exceeding f 600, 000. 00
for temporary purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Prince George's
County, be and they are hereby authorized to borrow from
time to time any sum or sums not exceeding in the aggregate
|600, 000. 00 for general county purposes, in anticipation of
tax or other receipts and to issue their note or notes therefor
maturing in not more than two years with an interest rate
not exceeding four per cent and to negotiate a loan or loans
or the sale of said note or notes in their discretion in the
manner they deem to be in the best interest of the County.
Said note or notes shall be general obligations of the County
and at the time of any such loan or loans, the County Com-
missioners shall designate the funds out of which said debt
is to be repaid.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
