"For Increased Rate of Fire Tax", and "Against Increased
Rate of Fire Tax", with a square opposite the words at the
right of each line, so that each voter can indicate his or her
choice on the question.

The election shall be conducted in accordance with the
Constitution and Laws of the State of Maryland relating to
Elections, and if it shall appear that a majority of the votes
upon the question are "For Increased Rate of Fire Tax", then
this Act shall be effective, but if it shall appear that a ma-
jority of the votes cast upon the question are "Against In-
creased Rate of Fire Tax", then this Act shall be null and
void.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 356
(House Bill 386)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 187-228, inclusive, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (Flack's Edi-
tion, 1943), being part of Article 17 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County",
sub-title "Cheverly", and to enact in lieu thereof, thirty
(30) new sections numbered 187-217, inclusive, of said Arti-
cle, title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Cheverly",
repealing the Charter of the Town of Cheverly and en-
acting a new corporate Charter in lieu thereof, and pro-
viding for a referendum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 187-228, inclusive, of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Prince George's County (Flack's Edition,
1943), being a part of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County", sub-title
"Cheverly", be and the same are hereby repealed and in lieu
thereof, are enacted thirty (30) new sections to be known as
Sections 187-217, inclusive, of said Article, and to read as
follows:
