to the center line of Upshur Street, then northeasterly to the
center line of 75th Avenue, then along the center line of
75th Avenue to its intersection with the Ardwick-Ardmore
Road.

Third Ward: The Third Ward shall embrace all of that
part of the town lying north of the Second Ward, and south
of the northerly line of the Annapolis Road.

Fourth Ward: The Fourth Ward shall embrace all that
part of the town lying north of the northerly line of the
Annapolis Road.

4. The government of said town shall be vested in a Mayor
and Town Council, composed of a Mayor elected at large
from the town and two councilmen to be elected from each
ward as hereinafter provided. They shall receive for their
services such compensation as may be determined by the
Mayor and Town Council from time to time, provided that
the compensation paid to the Mayor shall not exceed $300. 00
per annum and the compensation paid to each Councilman
shall not exceed $150. 00 per annum.

5. The Mayor shall be elected for a term of four years.
Two of said Councilmen shall be elected from each of the
wards of which the town is composed, and each councilman
shall be elected for a term of four years, except that at the
1949 election, one councilman from the fourth ward shall be
elected for a period of two years, and in the event of any
vacancy occurring during the term of office of any Council-
man or the Mayor, the election shall be for the unexpired
term. A Treasurer shall be elected from the town at
large and shall be elected for a term of two years. The
Mayor, Treasurer, and Councilmen shall hold their respective
offices for the several terms aforesaid and until their successors
shall have been duly elected and qualified, unless otherwise
terminated by operation of law. Each Councilman shall be
elected by the voters of his respective ward. On the second
Wednesday in May of each odd numbered year, regular
biennial elections shall be held for the election of a Mayor,
Treasurer, and Councilmen as their respective terms of office
expire.

No person shall be eligible as Mayor, Treasurer, or Council-
man unless upon the day of election he shall be a registered
voter of the Town of Landover Hills, and in the case of
Councilmen, of the ward from which they shall be elected.

Neither the Mayor nor any of the Councilmen shall hold
any other office under the corporation during their respective
