ject to the limitations herein set forth.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

(House Bill 49)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
4 (c) of Article 95A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), title "Unemployment Compensation",
sub-title "Benefit Eligibility Conditions", and to add Sec-
tion 5 (ca) to said Article, said new section to follow
immediately after Section 5 (c) of said Article and to be
under sub-title "Disqualification for Benefits", relating to
disqualification for unemployment compensation benefits
for not actively seeking work.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 4(c) of Article 95A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Unemployment Com-
pensation", sub-title "Benefit Eligibility Conditions", be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and
that Section 5 (ca) be and it is hereby added to said Article,
said new section to follow immediately after Section 5 (c)
of said Article, to be under sub-title "Disqualification for
Benefits", and all to read as follows:

(c) He is able to work, and is available for work; pro-
vided no claimant shall be considered ineligible in any week
of unemployment for failure to comply with the provisions
of this sub-section if such failure is due to an illness or
disability which occurs after he has registered for work and
no work which would have been considered suitable at the
time of his initial registration has been offered after the
beginning of such illness or disability.

(ca) If it is found by the Board that he has not actively
sought work. Such disqualification shall be effective from that
