taxes, for whatsoever purpose levied or to be levied, for or
within said town during the period of his service, or that
may be placed in his hands for collection. He shall have
power to collect and shall collect, if collectible, all water
rents and town taxes levied and accumulating, as provided
in Section 317A, and he shall have full power to enforce
the payment of the same by cutting off the water or a sale
of the property or by suit as aforesaid provided, as here-
inbefore described to convey title to any real estate or
personal property in said town and sold by him for the
payment of town taxes due and in arrears and in default
thereon, in the manner prescribed by the succeeding sec-
tions; and this Chapter shall not prevent said Town Man-
ager from collecting back taxes levied and due before the
passage of this law, but he may collect such back taxes
as well as those levied and becoming due after the passage
thereof.

317D. The said Town Manager of Princess Anne be-
fore he enters upon his duties as such shall take oath of
office prescribed by the State Constitution before the Presi-
dent and Commissioners of Princess Anne, to the effect
that he will faithfully and well perform the duties of the
same, and he shall also execute the bond prescribed by
Section 317A, which bond shall be approved by the said
President and Commissioners of Princess Anne and filed
away by the President of said President and Commis-
sioners, or recorded in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Somerset County.

317E. Upon failure of any Town Manager of Princess
Anne appointed to execute the bond required and provided
for by the preceding sections on or before the third day
after he has received his appointment to said office, the
said President and Commissioners of Princess Anne shall
after said third day of grace revoke said appointment and
appoint some one else to fill said office who must qualify
by giving bond as aforesaid.

317F. In case of the death, resignation or removal of
the said Town Manager of Princess Anne, the said Presi-
dent and Commissioners of Princess Anne shall within
thirty days or as soon thereafter as possible, after a
vacancy in said office so caused, appoint a new Town Man-
ager of Princess Anne who shall give bond and take the
oath of office as heretofore prescribed for the original
appointee.

317G. The President and Commissioners of Princess
Anne shall make their annual levy for municipal taxes on
