560 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 202

The term "closed season" shall mean the time during which
game or fur-bearing animals may not be legally taken or
killed and includes all periods of time not included within
the open season.

The term "hunt" shall mean to include; hunt, pursue,
catch, kill, trap, shoot, or attempt to hunt, pursue, catch,
kill, trap, or shoot.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 64(b) of
said Article 99, under the sub-title "Beavers, Muskrat and
Otter, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, and that
the sub-title be changed to "Fur Bearers, " and all to read as
follows:

FUR BEARERS
64.

(b) It shall be lawful to have the meat of the muskrat or
otter in possession not more than ten (10) days after the
close of the legal hunting season for the purpose of dis-
posing of the meat or meats for food.

SEC. ' 3. And be it further enacted, That two new sections
be and they are hereby added to said Article 99, said new
sections to be known as Sections 64A and 64B, to follow im-
mediately after Section 64 of said Article, and to read as
follows:

64A. (Fur Dealer's License and Report. ) (a) No person
other than the holder of a fur dealer's license issued pursuant
to this section shall buy or otherwise acquire furs or pelts of
any species of wild quadrupeds taken within or without this
State, provided, however, that no fur dealer's license shall be
required by:

(b) A person who is not a fur dealer to buy or otherwise
acquire the furs or pelts of any wild quadruped for his own
personal use and not for barter, exchange or sale.

(c) A person who can substantiate the fact that the furs
or pelts were bought from fur dealers licensed by the Game
and Inland Fish Commission or lawfully obtained from
dealers in another State and are to be used for the purpose
of dressing, altering, trimming, repairing or manufacturing
into a finished product but not for resale as furs or pelts, or
a tanner or taxidermist who has in his possession furs or pelts
legally owned by another person and which he is holding
temporarily solely for the purpose of processing.

(d) Fur licenses issued shall expire on the 30th day of
June next following date of issuance. All applications for
licenses shall contain information required by the Director.
