imposing the sentence, sentence the convicted party to pay
the death penalty or to be confined for more than twenty
years in the Penitentiary. Nothing in this section as hereby
amended shall be construed or held to affect or control any
violation of this section occurring prior to June 1, 1949, or
the prosecution thereof, but each such violation and prosecu-
tion thereof shall be governed by the provisions of the sec-
tion as it read and was in effect at the time such violation
occurred.

SEC. 2. And l)e it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 197

(Senate Bill 33)

AN ACT to add five new sub-sections to Section 74 of Article
66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supple-
ment), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Administration—
Registration—Titling", said new sub-sections to be known
as Sub-sections (Class O), (Class P), (Class Q), (Class
K), and (Class S), and to follow immediately after Sub-
section (Class N), providing for classifications for trans-
portation of new and used vehicles, wreckers, repairers
and finance companies, and prescribing the fees therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That five new sub-sections be and they are hereby added
to Section 74 of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1947 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title
"Administration—Registration—Titling", said new sub-sec-
tions to be known as Sub-sections (Class O), (Class P),
(Class Q), (Class R), and (Class S), to follow immediately
after Sub-section (Class N), and to read as follows:

(Class O. Transporters of Used Cars. ) Twenty-five ($25. 00)
Dollars for the first two sets of registration plates issued to
each transporter of used vehicles and Five ($5. 00) Dollars for
each additional set of registration plates.

(Class P. Repairers of Vehicles. ) Twenty five ($25. 00)
Dollars for the first two sets of registration plates issued to
each repairer of vehicles and Five ($5. 00) Dollars for each
additional set of registration plates,, the said vehicles to be
